Escape to the Western Black Sea

Tour details
Before Istanbul's noise has even died down, something changes the moment you cross the FSM Bridge and step onto the Anatolian side. As you pick up speed on the wide lanes of the Şile Highway, the city falls behind — ahead of you there is only road, and on both sides greenery stretching from Thrace to the Black Sea.
The Şile–Ağva line holds a special place in the mind of everyone who rides a motorcycle in Istanbul. The coastal road that begins once you leave Şile — narrow, winding, at times with tree branches forming a tunnel overhead — is one of the rare routes that make you feel it is possible to get this far from the city in such a short time.
When you stop at Rumeli Lighthouse to watch the Bosphorus open into the Black Sea, when you watch fish dangling on fishing lines in Ağva at the point where the Göksu and Yeşilçay rivers flow into the sea, or when you sit on the bright white cliffs of Kilimli Bay, you understand this: This is not a tour, it is a deep breath.
The day closes on the quiet forest roads of Darlık Dam. The Northern Marmara Highway carries you back to the city — but you return a little different.
